Gretta Hope Crookston

Gretta is survived by her parents Alan & Nina Crookston, her brothers Wesley, Luke, and Todd; as well as her Grandparents Ted & Laurie Crookston, and Al & Pam Sundberg (Meemaw & Pop-pop).

Gretta Hope Crookston just couldn't wait to come to earth and start her mortal journey! We even tried telling her "Hold on and wait a minute girl!" From the moment she arrived she was running the show!

Gretta came to us with a serious congenital heart condition that we had hopes of treating. In fact, her entire life was kind of one big game of Hearts. To save Gretta, we were being asked to "shoot the moon," and we knew that we did not have all the cards to do it. We prayed that the deck would be reshuffled, and that the cards would be dealt back in our favor; but as the game progressed and hearts were broken, and rebroken, we pleaded for divine intervention. Gretta handled her tough situation with perfect meekness. We deeply appreciate the kindness that has been extended to us by so many.

We played our cards the best we could, and we worked tirelessly with a group of extraordinary professionals and experts, who were all focused on helping to turn things in Gretta's favor; but there always seemed to be a Higher Power holding the Aces. We really feel like Gretta came to us with a "Return to Sender" label attached, and as much as we tried to appeal that notice – we were overruled. We did everything we could to save her, but her body told us it was time to return.

Gretta has had an everlasting impression on our souls. She worked tremendous miracles in our lives. In 25 days, she united so many people and promoted so much faith. Her messages to us were profoundly spiritual. Gretta reminded us of the miracle and sanctity of life. Letting Gretta progress and go back to the God who gave her life, was an indescribable painstaking process; but through it all, none of us that were around her could deny the Power we felt. It has changed us all. Now it is our hope that we can keep up with her. 'Till we meet again our precious "pearl" angel.

Memorial Services for Gretta will be on Monday February 7, 2022, at the Chapel located at 1750 North 900 West, West Bountiful, Utah 84087. Greeting time will be at 3:30 p.m. (MST) and the Memorial Service will be from 4-5.p.m.
