Guadalupe “Lupe” Marquez, 70, of Odessa, Texas, went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 4, 1954, in Vado de Piedra, Chihuahua, Mexico, and spent her life devoted to her faith, family and work. Lupe was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. From an early age, she carried a deep sense of responsibility and care for those around her. She worked alongside and cared for her father until his passing and did the same for her mother into her 90s. Family was always at the center of her life. It was her purpose, her joy, and her calling.
A longtime resident of Odessa Tx, Lupe was the beloved wife of Jose Marquez for over 50 years. A devoted mother to Marisa Marquez, Jose Marquez Jr. (Angela), and Joel Marquez. She was also a proud grandmother to Isaac Marquez, Mikey and Aubrey Robertson, Amerie and Natalie Marquez, and a loving great-grandmother to Elizabeth, Zayah, and Jerzi Marquez; Carter Robertson; and Zion Scott.
Lupe is survived by her brothers Leopoldo, Francisco and Octavio Bejarano. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anastacio and Delfina Bejarano, and her little sister, Maria Hernandez.
Lupe’s faith guided every part of her life. She lived with deep devotion to Jesus and an unshakable belief in the power of prayer. Her strength, compassion, and faith touched everyone who knew her. A housekeeper and caregiver, Lupe took great pride in her work and in the people she served.
She dedicated many years of faithful service to the Prasad family, who she became very close with, like family. Known for her incredible work ethic and generous heart, Lupe never stopped working or serving others. She worked tirelessly, helping provide for her family, while always finding time to help anyone in need.
Anyone who tasted her cooking would testify that her food was the best, filled with love and food for the soul. Her Tamales were famous, not just for their flavor but for the love and care she poured into every single one and Momma made miracles every Thanksgiving!
Even through years of health challenges, Lupe’s determination never wavered. She continued to work, to give, to love, and to inspire everyone around her. She faced every trial bravely with grace, humility, and courage, never complaining, never slowing down, and always putting others before herself.
Lupe will be remembered as a pillar of strength, a woman of deep faith, and for having unconditional love for her family.
Her memory will live on and we will meet again in heaven. Believe in God, love your family, work hard, stay humble, and never give up.
