Guadalupe Ortega

Funeral services for Guadalupe Ortega, age 79 of Midland, Texas, will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at M.S. Doss Chapel with Pastor Gilbert Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ortega was born in Lockhart, Texas on December 14, 1945 to Ramona (Galecia) and Antonio Martinez. She married Joe Ortega in Seminole, Texas on January 12, 1962. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. Guadalupe enjoyed reading her bible, watching The 700 Club, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very loveable woman, with a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile.

Guadalupe Ortega passed away at her home in Midland Thursday, December 4, 2025. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Gilbert Ortega, one daughter, Marianne Ortega, three brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her husband, Joe Ortega of Midland; two sons, Freddie Ortega, and Abel Ortega and wife Teresa, both of Midland, Texas; one daughter, Joelda Martinez and husband Joe of Midland; two brothers, Tony Martinez and wife Mary of San Marcos, Texas, and Ricky Martinez and wife Sylvia of Lockhart, Texas; two sisters, Sylvia Martinez of Round Rock, Texas, and Josie Perez of Galena Park, Texas; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
