Guerry Legrande Hahn Sr.
November 15, 1928 – March 10, 2025
Guerry Legrande Hahn Sr. passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. While his presence will be deeply missed here on Earth, we rejoice knowing he has been reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Jessie Bea Hahn; his son, Guerry Legrande Hahn Jr.; his daughter, Brenda Rene' Sloan; his parents, brothers, sisters, and a host of cherished family and friends who went before him. What a joyous reunion it must be!
A Marine through and through, Guerry lived by the motto Semper Fi-always faithful-to his country, his family, and his friends. His service in the Marine Corps shaped his life, instilling in him a deep sense of loyalty, resilience, and honor. Following his military service, he applied his sharp mind and strong work ethic as an engineer at Cameron Iron Works before channeling his passion for the outdoors into a thriving fish guide business, Gold Spoon Guide Service, which he built alongside his late son.
Guerry had a larger-than-life personality, a quick wit, and a legendary sense of humor. He was a master storyteller, always ready with a tale that could make you laugh until you cried. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, loved, and at home-no matter who they were or where they came from. His greatest joy in life was his family, whom he loved with all his heart.
He leaves behind his devoted daughters, Leighanne Cobb and Sherri Lynn Garvin; son-in-law, John Steven Cobb Sr. and his late son's wife, Deanna Hahn Anderson; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Guerry spent the greater part of his life as a proud resident of
Anahuac, TX, where he built not just a house, but a home-a safe haven for family, friends, and anyone in need of a place to belong. That was the kind of man he was, and that is how he will always be remembered.
The impact Guerry made on those who knew and loved him will never fade. His stories, his laughter, and his unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Rest easy, Guerry. Your work here is done, but your legacy will never be forgotten. Semper Fi.
