On this day, July 17th, 2025, the heavens opened, and the angels were sent to bring God’s humble servant to his promised resting place. Peter will now rejoice for eternity at the feet of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior.

Peter Warren Hahn was born on September 26, 1944 in Sheboygan, WI to the son of Ned & Helen (Wiegand) Hahn. On October 29, 1944, he was baptized at the home of his maternal grandparents on the Wiegand Homestead Farm. At St. Peter-St. John Lutheran Church in Cleveland, WI on March 30th, 1958, he took the oath of confirmation, and has held fast. ‘For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, But my kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has mercy on you.’ Isaiah 54:10.

Peter was raised on his parent’s dairy farm in Newton, WI. He attended a one room school house in Spring Valley and later went to Kiel High School. After graduation he attended the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point for one year in hope of becoming a forest ranger.

After realizing his career choice was not to be, he returned home. He was hired on at AL Wagner Lumber Company in Haven, WI. On weekends, Peter helped his mother’s cousin, Willard Wagner pick apples at his 2nd orchard just north east of Ada, WI. Upon Willard’s retirement and move to Arizona, Peter took over the small orchard. After 5 years he purchased 11 acres across the road where he built his home and expanded the orchard. A bright and beautiful rainbow in the blue sky, stretching over the apple trees after a soft rain, gave birth to the orchard name, Ada Rainbow Orchard! At the time, in 1966 he was also hired at Kohler Company in the brass & aluminum diecast division. He retired from Kohler in 2010 after 44 years.

On September 3, 1977 Peter was united in marriage to Maryann (Schoen) Kraus. Together, they raised a large blended family and grew the orchard business into a happy and joyful place. The orchard motto was, ‘a good product for a fair price’. Upon his full retirement in 2022, the orchard was sold and then they moved to Howards Grove. Peter is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Howards Grove where he served as an elder and taught Sunday School.

Peter enjoyed his children and grandchildren, many of which he nicknamed Hildegard or Buck (much to their dislike). His passion was sitting on the seat of one of his tractors (which he also had a nicknamed). He loved his orchard but mostly the many people who came through the doors. It became a place to socialize and getting to know each other. He loved traveling with Maryann to Israel, Egypt, Costa Rica, Mexico and Canada. But most of all he loved the winters in Cape Coral, Florida and most recently to North Padre Island, Texas.

Many thanks to Dr. Bettag and his PA Amy, as well as all the girls who work there. The care and concern for all of their patients is impeccable.

Peter is proceeded in death by his parents, a grandson Drake Peter Wolfert, brother-in-law Marco Meza, Mother & Father-in-law Martin &Marian Schoen Sr., brother-in-law Martin Schoen Jr. and sister-in-law Kathleen Riemer.

He is survived by his wife Maryann and blessed with 12 children; Tina Dannenberg (Fiancé John Peronne) of Howards Grove, Julie (Jeff) Schultz of Oshkosh, WI, Luis Peter Hahn of Denver, CO, Megan (Tim) Fibiger of Sheboygan, Caitlin (Nic) Udovich of Sheboygan, James Hahn of Sheboygan, Kimberly (Ryan) Wolfert of Kiel, WI, Rebecca (Adam) Huth of Howards Grove, Paula Hahn of Sheboygan, April (Steve) Flanigan of Winneconnie, WI; 2 stepsons, Paul Kraus of Sheboygan, William Kraus of San Angelo, TX; daughter-in-law Melissa Hahn; 24 grandchildren, Trenton & Travon Dannenberg, Jorden (Travis) Juchem & Justice Schultz, Jacob (Ema) Kuhlmann, Noah, Luke & Zechariah Kraus, Shaun Niels, Raven (Eric) Noss, Halle & Jayden Kraus, Kieran Fibiger, Alexis, Mason, Landon & Nolan Hahn, Hunter & Arrianna Wolfert, Caleb, Micah, Esther & Jonah Huth and Rachel Flanigan; 2 great grandchildren, Clayton Juchem & Jaxen Freyburg; 5 brothers, Andrew (Connie) Hahn of Newton, WI, Anthony (Theresa) Hahn of Chilton, WI, David (Stephanie) Hahn of Maui, Hawaii, Ivan Hahn & Mindy of Germantown, WI and Kevin Hahn & Sara of Kiel, WI; 2 sisters, Susan (Ric) Puls of Ada, WI and Linda Meza of Astoria, OR; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
