Guy L Ford Jr., 87 years old of Deer Park, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025. He was born December 21, 1937, in Houston to Guy L. Ford Sr. And Hattie Grace Ford.

He grew up in Houston and graduated from Sam Houston High School where he met the love of his life, Betty.

Guy and his family attended Melrose Baptist Church in North Houston. The Pastor Joe Love had preached a sermon on salvation and Guy was drawn to make a commitment to accept Jesus Christ as his savior.

Guy and Betty were married on February 7, 1958. Shortly after marrying Betty, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and spent his time of service in Germany for two years. Once he returned home from the Army he and Betty moved to Deer Park. Guy attended San Jacinto College and later went on to obtain his Architecture License in 1983. He designed and helped construct many buildings and churches in and around the Deer Park area, one being the welcome center and classrooms at First Baptist Church where he faithfully served in many capacities and was a member for over 60 years.

Guy loved to take long road trips. Throughout the years he and Betty were able to travel to all 50 U.S. states. His favorite trips were to the mountains and hiking in Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. When he was not traveling, he enjoyed golfing at The Battleground Golf Course with friends and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Guy is survived by many loved ones, including his wife of 67 years Betty J.Ford, son Guy Lynn Ford III ( wife Susan) of Deer Park, daughter Jennifer Coe (husband Randall Morin) of Galveston and son Neil Ford of Deer Park, sister Jule Jo Adcock (deceased husband John) of Deer Park and Georgetta Pickett (husband Harlon ) of Ingram, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Guy L. Ford Sr. And Hattie Grace Ford.

Services for Guy will be at First Baptist Church in Deer Park, 438 E. 8th Street on Saturday September 27, 2025, at 1100 AM. Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM/
