Guy Mandel Obituary
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, December 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 64 Forrester St., Salem, for Guy Mandel, of Peabody, who passed away on Monday, December 15th, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston. He was 55 years old. He spent his final days surrounded by his loving family. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 20th, in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church at 10:00 a.m. Please go directly to church. Interment will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
Guy was born in Chelsea on August 11, 1970. He was the beloved son of Deborah L. (LaRocca) Kalligheri and the late Armand Kalligheri. Guy was raised and educated in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1988. Following high school, he went on to continue his education, earning a master's degree in business from the University of Phoenix. Guy and his family moved to Peabody in 2003 where they remained longtime residents.
In November of 2014, Guy and his wife, Ellen, opened their own restaurant, Just in Time Café in Peabody. Together they ran their café for the past 11 years.
Guy loved cooking and baking. He was an avid Disney fan and enjoyed going to the casino. He adored his family and cherished spending time with his niece and nephew who he referred to as his "joys". He was a cherished son, husband, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Guy was the adored husband of Ellen P. (Howe) Mandel with whom he shared 13 years of marriage. Devoted son of Deborah L. Kalligheri of Peabody. The loving stepfather of Neil DaRosa and his wife Lexy of Beverly. Dear brother of Jeff Kalligheri and his wife Marielle of (LA/Peabody) and the late Justin V. Kalligheri. Adored uncle of Lucca and Arianna Kalligheri. Loving nephew of Marilyn and the late John LaRocca, the late Irene and Ronald Rizzo, and Nancy and Al Melchionda and the son in law of Judy and Robert Carola. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his father and his brother, Guy was predeceased by his grandparents, the late Anna and Guy LaRocca.
