Guy "Matt" Mendenhall

Guy Matthew Mendenhall, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday December 3rd,2025. At a very early age Matt picked up his love for all things sports, as well as being exposed to many amazing cars of the time. He played sports for all his schools, loving baseball and basketball, but really taking to football by the time he got to high school playing quarterback. He always looked back fondly on all of his sports achievements, and the many friendships made there.

 During his youth he also developed a great love for rock and roll, which in his adult life led him to a wonderful journey working in various roles in the music industry. He attended and worked many shows meeting many rock stars and musicians, always having amazing stories to tell about them. One of his true loves was also Drag Racing, he loved everything racing but specifically Drag Racing. His time at the starting line and running it for Brown Country Dragway was one of his biggest prides and joys. 

Matt is preceded in death by his father Richard Mendenhall.

Matt is survived by his son Thomas (Sarah) Mendenhall, his mother Judith Mendenhall, his siblings James (Licia) Mendenhall and Patty (Greg) Moreno, William (Taunya) Mendenhall, and many nephews, nieces and good friends.

His Spirit will linger on giving new life to others dreams and aspirations in this life to chase what makes you happy and not care how people feel about the way you live your life. In the end only you get to live your life, and Guy Matthew Mendenhall really lived his.

A memorial gathering will be held in Matt's honor 1-3pm Saturday December 20th, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East Funeral Center.
