Kathleen Drucilla McClellan, 90, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. Kathleen was born on July 31, 1935, to Rolland Sprunger and Esther Furman.
Kathleen graduated from Warren Central and moved to Florida in 1987 to work at a dental office. She met the love of her life, George McClellan, and they were married in August of 1989. After George’s passing Kathleen moved back to Indiana.
Kathleen was a woman of quiet devotion and generous talent, sharing her musical gifts faithfully as the organist at Smith Valley Presbyterian Church and blessing many other congregations with her steady hands and joyful spirit. Beyond the sanctuary, Kathleen expressed her creativity through knitting and cross-stich. She also had a remarkable gift for baking, designing and decorating elaborate cakes that marked life’s milestones with beauty and sweetness. Her life was a testament to service, artistry, and love shared generously with all who knew her.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband George McClellan, her daughter Lura Beth Alspach; her parents Rolland Sprunger, Esther Furman, and her siblings…
Kathleen is survived by her sons Scott (Maribeth) Alspach, Brent (Kandy) Alspach, Bart A., and Chris (Marianne) Alspach; grandchildren Holly (Scott) Ison, Erin (Brad) Napier, Nick (Michele) Alspach, Samantha (Kyle) Dyson, Sarah (Mark) Whitaker, Christian Alspach, Riley Alspach, Chloe (Ryder) Whitaker; and great-grandchildren Tyler Ison, Tori Ratti, Ellie Ison, Kennedy Syx, Annalyse Napier, CJ Napier, Layla Dyson, Reese Alspach Ray, Morgan Dyson, Isla Dyson, Ryder Whitaker, Raeleigh Whitaker; great-great-grandchildren Grace Ratti, and Axel Ratti.
Visitation for Kathleen will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Washington Park East Funeral Home, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm.
