Guy Houston "Buddy" Walker, Jr. born on October 10th, 1958 passed away on November 28, 2025 peacefully at his daughter's home in Lexington. Buddy was a third generation and lifelong cattleman, an avid outdoorsman who did things his own way and never apologized for it. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Bonnie Walker; his sister and brother-in-law, Allie and Cade Bird; Penny Woods, the love of his life; and his lifelong friend, Randal "Chopper" Wood. Buddy never turned down a fishing trip and spent his best days in the woods or on the water. He loved deeply, sacrificed for his family in quiet ways, and held fast to his path. He lived hard, laughed often, and made room for the people he cared about, even if he didn't always say it out loud. He is survived by his daughters Allison (Chris) Morris and Katie (Kevin) Porter; his grandchildren Bonnie and Avie Porter; his sisters Barbara Walker and Bonnie Branch; nephews Brian (Wotrina) Bird, Jesse (Natalie) Hill, and Jordan Branch; nieces Mary Bird and Talley (Justin) Flowers; and great-nephews Jacob, Walker, Henry, Caden, Josiah, and Jovan. Also surviving him is his longtime friend and hunting buddy, Jeff Johnson. Buddy leaves behind stories best told over a cold beer, a few lessons learned the hard way, and the quiet mark of a life lived exactly as he saw fit. Funeral services will be on Monday, December 1 at 1PM at Reed's Chapel with burial to follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 11AM until service.
