Shawn, Esther and family, I just learned of Brother Guy's transition. He is with Jesus. My first memory of him was in homeroom at VanWyck. Later we would connect as a part of Mr. John Sullivan's( JJSH school principal)'s special cabinet ( from freshmen to senior year) a grass roots team( organized by Linda D'Avanzo) that changed school policy. In my senior year we connected as believers in Christ at many prayer meetings( St Columba,Farmers Mill, the Toulans) and Bible studies. As I am here now I can hear his voice singing and his strumming guitar (along with Bob Travis) "For by Grace" you are saved through faith and it's not of yourself...... It's the gift of God, It's the gift of God....... . Rest well Guy, thank you for being faithful to the cause of Christ and sharing your gifts. I will see you again when we all get to heaven.

We have many fond memories of Guy and his unique laugh! Esther has been a great friend to my daughters and we did many things together as families.
I'll always remember at the Dutchess County Fair when Guy saw a vendor offer free knife sharpening. He asked if Esther brought her pocket knife with her, and immediately all my kids also pulled out their knives. Guy laughed and said "wow, all home schooled kids have knives!"
We camped together in the Adirondacks with other church families, and although we never convinced Guy to swim in the lake, we had a super time.
Guy taught my kids how to follow a worship leader as they sang and played their instruments. He came to our house and would play his guitar, change keys and tempo, and taught them to listen and be able to adapt to others on the worship team.
Our lives are richer for knowing Guy. He stands out as a father who loves his daughter Esther, and his wife Shawn. May our Lord comfort in this loss, until we meet Guy again in Glory!
