Ronald McGowan Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
Born on October 1, 1933, Ronald was the son of the late Richard and Margaret (Schmidt) McGowan. He proudly served in the US Air Force. Ronald was Controller at IBM in East Fishkill. He then moved to IBM Headquarters in Armonk, NY, holding various financial positions. He also held an assignment in Paris.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Eberth McGowan in 2019; and his sister, Patricia. He is survived by his children, and their spouses, Susan McGowan and Philippe Jolivalt, Keith and Nancy McGowan, and Peter and Kathleen McGowan; his grandchildren, Kalin McGowan, Kendra McGowan, Michael McGowan, Katie McGowan, Molly McGowan, and Nina Jolivalt; his great-granddaughter, Emma Molly Goodwin; his brother, Richard McGowan; and many nieces and nephews.
While Ronald worked in Paris, he enjoyed traveling with his children to different parts of Europe and the world. Ronald also enjoyed playing guitar, and bike rides and hiking with his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533 followed by internment at St. Denis Cemetery, 604 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY.
