Guy C. Wilson III, 92, of Phoenix, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Alhambra, California on October 9, 1932 to the late Guy C. Wilson Jr. and Constance Q. Wilson, he grew up in Southern California and graduated from Yale College in 1954. After serving in the U.S. Army, he earned his law degree from Harvard Law School and moved to Arizona to clerk for Justices Levi S. Udall and Jesse A. Udall at the Arizona Supreme Court.
He began his legal career at a law firm in Scottsdale before establishing his own practice and later becoming a partner in the Phoenix firm of Daughton, Feinstein & Wilson. He married Jane A. Wilson on August 24, 1984. Following the birth of his eldest son, he returned to private practice and remained a sole practitioner until his death.
Guy was a life member of the Scottsdale Charros and former president of the Yale Club of Phoenix. He was also a member of Paradise Valley Country Club for several decades, among other organizations.
He called Phoenix home for over 50 years but traveled the world, living for a time in New Zealand with his family. A learned and honorable man, he was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved reading, sports, golf most of all, and all iterations of bulldogs, and cherished time spent with family.
He is survived by his wife, Jane A. Wilson; his sister Elizabeth "Biz" Murphy and her family; his daughter Susan "Graham" Wilson and her husband Vincent DeLorenzo; his son Guy "Gus" C. Wilson IV and his wife Michelle Wilson; his son Spencer B. Wilson and his wife Haley M. Wilson; grandchildren Kenzo Nakamura, Heidi Wilson, and Rei N. Atkinson and her husband Ryan Atkinson; and great-granddaughters Maiya S. Atkinson and Ema E. Atkinson.
At his request, no services will be held.
