Gwendolyn Lynette Bell (Hambright) "Gwen"
July 29, 1960 – June 29, 2025
"God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
- Matthew 5:4
With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Gwendolyn Lynette Bell, affectionately known as Gwen, who departed this life at the age of 64. Gwen was born on July 29, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Willie Hambright Jr. and Lois Pitts (Knight).
Gwen devoted many years of her life to caring for others as a Nurse's Assistant, where her compassion and warm spirit touched countless lives. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures-shopping, good food, music, friendship, and fellowship were just a few of the things that brought her happiness.
She was a proud and loving mother to LaToya Hambright, Rodney Hambright (Amber), James Bell, and Miracle Bell, and a cherished grandmother to Alexander Harris Jr., Brionna Hambright, Ariana Hambright, Malik Hambright, Gabrielle Hambright, Julius Brown, Semaj Bell, and Summer Bell. Her heart was big, and her love everlasting.
Gwen is survived by her beloved siblings-Pamela Jones, Lori Hambright, Tia Pitts and Willie Hambright- her special friend James Richards as well as her aunts, nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever remember her strength, humor, and unwavering loyalty.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 29, 2025, as a way to honor the life and love she gave so freely. Further details will be shared with friends and family.
Gwen will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the way she lit up a room. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Gwendolyn, please visit our Tree Store.
