Gwendolyn "Tootie" Ann Reckinger, age 89, of Lexington passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in her home.
She was born August31, 1934 in Detroit, daughter of the late Lloyd and Dorothy (Scheid) Ross.
Tootie lived her Life for her children and grandchildren. They could do no wrong in her eyes. She rarely ever raised her voice or yelled, even when it was deserved. She worked hard her whole life and never ever complained. She had so many talents from ceramics to sewing to crafts to gardening. There is probably not a soul, in the county, who hasn't had Tootie work her magic with her sewing machine. She loved her home on the lake. Our family is blessed to have 5 generations enjoy the beauty of Lake Huron at lot 98. She will be beyond deeply missed by all that knew her.
Tootie is survived by her 2 daughters, Denise (Cameron) MacKenzie, and Dina (Tom Ippolito) Wurmlinger; 3 sons, Dennis, Jeff (Teresa), and Greg (Tammy) Reckinger; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren who referred to her as "Grandma TuTu".
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Ross.
Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Monday, April 29 at the Ave Maria Parish- St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington. Fr. Donald J. Eppenbrock will officiate. Burial will be in the Lexington Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Sunday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Lexington, and 10-11 AM Monday at the church.
