EAST DETROIT- David Allan Kaiser, of East Detroit, Michigan, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Born in Highland Park, Michigan, to Helm and Joan Kaiser, Dave lived a life as bold, original, and unforgettable as the music he loved to play. A true musician to his core, Dave was a pianist, guitarist, singer, and could pick up and master just about any instrument he touched. He had an ear for music that couldn't be taught, effortlessly moving between styles, from heartfelt ballads to hard-driving rock. Music wasn't just something he played, it was the language through which he connected with the world. In his younger years, Dave was a motorcycle man through and through, riding countless bikes over the decades. In later years, when back issues forced him to trade horsepower for scooters, he embraced the change with his trademark humor and style. Whatever the ride, it was never just about getting somewhere, it was about the freedom of the open road. Dave's sense of humor was legendary. He always had a joke at the ready and could find a way to keep things light, even in the heaviest of moments. His perfectly timed one-liners weren't just funny, they were a gift he used to connect with people and make life a little brighter for everyone around him. His sharp wit and ability to make people feel at ease built him a vast network of friends from all walks of life. He valued loyalty, lived by his own code, and never compromised on what mattered - family, friendship, and respect. He had a deep love for the beach and spent his later years on the shores of Lake Huron in Lexington, Michigan, after retiring from the State of Michigan. There, he found peace in the rhythm of the waves, collecting beach glass, sharing laughs with friends, and filling the air with music. Family was a constant thread in Dave's life. He was one of ten siblings and is survived by Chris (Gary George), Karen (Vern Pacza), Tim (Patty Kaiser), Kathy (Cathy Kaiser), Jeff (Kim Kaiser), Scott (Addie Kaiser), Greg (Jacki Kaiser), Steve (Michelle Kaiser), and Terri (Randy Smith). He leaves behind his beloved children, Alexandra and David Kaiser, who will carry forward his love, lessons, and unshakable sense of cool. Dave was the coolest guy in any room - whether in a leather jacket, denim jeans, or a cut-off denim shirt, there was always rhythm in his step and soul in every move. He was a romantic, an artist, and a true gentleman. He lived life on his own terms, to the beat of his own drum, and left the world a better, louder, and more colorful place. A funeral Mass will be held on August 20th at 11 A.M. at the Ave Maria Parish- St. Denis Catholic Church, located at 5366 Main Street in Lexington, Michigan. A luncheon will immediately follow at Lakeview Hills Golf Resort to celebrate Dave's remarkable life. He will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever remembered. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Save the Music Foundation in memory of David A. Kaiser.
