With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Hadley Marie Nelson, who left us too soon on January 5, 2025 at the tender age of 13. Born on April 6, 2011, in Fergus Falls, MN, Hadley brought joy and light into the lives of everyone she encountered.
Hadley’s family was welcomed into the Brandon – Evansville schools during her 7th grade year, where she quickly became a part of the community and embraced new adventures at her school in Brandon. She was truly a social butterfly, effortlessly making friends and forming bonds wherever she went. Whether she was playing in a volleyball match or scoring a basket on the basketball court, her athleticism and enthusiasm were infectious. Let’s not forget her love for softball, where she proudly wore the number #8, her favorite. She excelled in sports, but it was her infectious spirit and ability to connect with others that truly made her shine. Known affectionately as "Hadley Girl" within her family, she had a knack for knowing when someone needed a helping hand or a comforting word. Her warmth and kindness extended to everyone, especially little kids, who could always count on her to make them laugh.
An unselfish soul, Hadley poured her heart into everything she did and everyone she met. Education was important to her, and she thrived in school, always prepared and willing to share her vibrant ideas. She was proud to be a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where her faith and love for sports came together beautifully.
She is survived by her loving parents, Nickolette Nelson and Jesse Nelson, brother and sister, Tayten Nelson and Makenzie Nelson; grandparents, Don and Tina Haugse and Steve and Deb Nelson; great grandparents, Bill and Linda Buckingham, Gloria Haugse, Connie Monson and Dick and Betty Casper; great great grandmother, Ida Mae Buckingham; aunts, Alicia (Matt) Koval, Trista (Brady) Tostenson, Jasmine (Ramie Denzel) Haugse, and Kelsey (Dustin) Ringsaker; cousins, Alayah, Maya, Dax, Wyatt, Rylee, Riverly, Casper, and Mattie.
She was preceded in death by her uncle Matthew Nelson; cousin, Brock Eidsness; and great aunt, Shelly Eidsness.
