Hal Wilson Backherms of Lawrenceburg, Indiana passed away after a valiant battle with cancer on Saturday November 26th, 2022 at the age of 66, surrounded by his loved ones.
Hal was known as a generous person with a big heart, who enjoyed helping others, especially his family, friends and colleagues. He was hardworking and a man of many trades. A self-taught entrepreneur in the heavy equipment industry, Hal owned a successful business for 32 years, "Hal's Hydraulics." He was passionate about his work and one of the best in his trade. He proudly retired in 2020. Aside from spending time with his children, Hal enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and was an enthusiastic traveler to the mountains any chance he had.
Hal will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jackie and his children; Jenny Reed (Dustin), Amber Lloyd (Brandon), Cody Backherms (Krista) and Hal Backherms Jr. He will be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren; Lilybeth, Izak and Landyn, brother; Glen Backherms and sister-in-law; Barb O'Leary (Mike) as well as the family dog, Maya. He was preceded in death by his mother; Ruth Backherms (2014), his father; Harry Backherms (2005) and wife; Marybeth Backherms (1999). All held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly.
Visitation to be held Thursday December 1st, 10am until time of Funeral Service at 12pm at Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home 3155 Harrison Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45211. Mr. Bill Burwinkle officiating.
