Michael L Backherms, 68, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 with his loved ones by his side. He was born in Louisville, KY on August 6, 1954 to the late Phalis and Martha Backherms.
Michael was an appliance delivery driver for Charlie Wilson Appliances and retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company after 35 plus years. He worked his first job at the Greyhound Supermarket. He was a 1973 graduate of Our Lady of Providence High School.
Michael enjoyed classic car shows, NASCAR, and driving the race transporter for Kimmel Racing. He also enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping and fishing.
He is survived by his beloved Linda Wyatt; sister, Pamela (Bill) Kimmel; niece, Kristina (Josh) Stubblefield; nephew, Will (Erica) Kimmel; great-nephews and great-niece, William, Waylon, and Ella; numerous cousins; and his dog, Sophie.
Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, on Friday, June 16 from 12:00 to 6:00 pm with the funeral service at 6:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Jeffersonville Animal Shelter, 201 Willinger Lane, Jeffersonville, IN 47130. Memories and messages of support can be shared at www.ScottFuneralHome.com.
