Haley Elizabeth Ray, age 17, of Hazlehurst passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 in Telfair County from injuries sustained in an accident.
Haley was born April 14, 2006 in Ocilla. She was a member of the Jeff Davis County High School Class of 2024 and was number three in her class. She was in the FBLA, Beta Club, and served on the yearbook staff as well as the student advisory board of the Jeff Davis Hospital. Haley also served as the worship leader for the Hazlehurst Church of God of Prophecy. She was an avid hunter and fisher and a cowgirl at heart. Haley was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Raymond Manning.
Survivors include her parents Newly & Kandy Ray of Hazlehurst; brother, Christian Ray; sister, Jaiden Johns (Colby); maternal grandmother, Dianne Manning; paternal grandparents, Elaine (Garry) Spires and LeRoy (Betty) Ray; maternal great-grandmother, Betty Kight; uncles, Randy (Wren) Manning, and Shawn Ray; special friends, Tori Taylor, Lexi Girtman, and Aleah Parker also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM from the Hazlehurst Church of God with Rev. Randy Manning officiating. Interment will follow in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Worth, Bobby Brue, Cheyne Browning, Tre Rea, Lewis Baker, and Shawn Ray.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of Jeff Davis County High School Class of 2024 and Student Council.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
