Harland Brent Higgins, known affectionately as Brent to his friends and family, age 70, resident of Alva, OK, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on September 16, 1955, in Tulsa, OK to Harland “Jack” Higgins, Jr. and Nelma R. (Wasson) Higgins.
Brent was a proud graduate of Coweta High School, completing his education in 1974, and went on to further his studies at Oklahoma University. His commitment to education and personal growth was a testament to his character.
Brent had a fulfilling career as a computer technician at the University of Central Oklahoma and Enterprise Square. His passion for technology was evident not only in his professional life but also in his hobbies. Brent enjoyed reading extensively, delving into different genres and broadening his horizons through literature. He had a green thumb, finding joy in gardening, and took pleasure in playing chess, engaging in thoughtful strategies that showcased his keen mind. Additionally, Brent was an avid enthusiast of stocks and bonds, showing a remarkable ability to understand and navigate the financial markets.
He is survived by his sister, Dena Higgins Conrad and her husband Kurt of Arlington, VA; his nieces, Laurel and Madison; his nephews, Jonathan and Ian; and his cousins, Roy Dale, Bruce Cox, Lynn Luker, David Cox, Jamie Wasson, Jan Miser, Gary Cox, Rayne VanEmden, Debbie Holmes, Susan Reese, Daresa Land, Billie Cox, Becky Villarreal, Dean Wasson, and Debi Stavenhagen.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Harland "Jack" Higgins, Jr. and Nelma R. Higgins, as well as his grandparents, Harland and Jennie (Hays) Higgins and William Daily and Cora (Meadow) Wasson.
Services for Brent are pending and will be announced at a later date.
