Harold “Willie” Dean Cheek, 80, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 22, 1941, in Davidson County to the late Willie “Will” Rufus and Macie D. Cheek. Willie was a retired truck driver and businessman, owning several local establishments within his life. He was a motorcycle advocate, friends with many and respected by all. “From Harley’s to Hot Rods, his legacy was larger than life.”
In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his daughter, Victoria C. Davis; sister, Donna Cheek Reavis; and brother, Kenneth L. Cheek. Those surviving include his wife, Margie P. Cheek; daughter, Wendy C. Stack; grandson, Donovan “Chase” Espinosa; brothers, J. Wayne Cheek and Benny R. Cheek; his greatest longtime friend, Joe Smith; along with several special nieces and nephews and many other dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Denny Marion officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Forsyth Memorial Park.
