Harold Walter Estelle, Jr. was born on November 22, 1937 to Harold and Forestine Estell in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up with his seven siblings in Kansas City, Kansas.
Harold attended public school in both Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri, ultimately graduating from The Western Seminary where he was a star basketball player.
He met and married Verna Marie Jackson and their union lasted 65 years until her passing in 2022.
To provide for his family, Harold drove a Yellow Cab until he secured a position with the United States Postal Service. He worked his way from temporary route carrier to Special Delivery. He retired after 38 years of service. Next, he drove a school bus for the Consolidated School District No. 4 in Grandview, Missouri for ten years.
Harold was affectionately known to his family as "Harry", "Uncle Jr." and "Uncle June". To his CB friends his handle was "The Mellow Man." He was also a life member of Fred W. Dabney Lodge No. 24 of the M. W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge F. & A. M.
His parents, wife and sisters – Carolyn Harrison, Dora Boykin and Brenda Toney all preceded him in death. He is survived by siblings: Barbara Henderson, Helen Jackson, Gerald Estell and Everett Estell.
He also leaves to cherish his memory, five children – Harold W. Estelle, III (Teretha) of Grandview, Missouri; Annette Y. Crabtree of Grandview, Missouri; Brian K. Estelle (Eva) of Houston, Texas; Dawn C. Hickman (Mark) of Lee's Summit, Missouri; and Correy S. Estelle of Omaha, Nebraska. His grandchildren – Stanley Crabtree, Jr.; Brandon Crabtree, Dawnesha Estelle, Correy Estelle II, Taylor Estelle, Brandon Campbell, Chandler Estelle, Jordan Hickman, Asia Estelle, Corryn Estelle and Quinton Wolf. His great-grandchildren – Sa'Maya Crabtree, Kiyh Crabtree, DaMarcus Wallace, Lexii Acevedo, Kane Crabtree, Kairo Crabtree and Melo Estelle as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and longtime friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 1, 2025, 2pm at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Private Disposition. Visitation 1:00pm-2:00pm at the chapel. Services conducted by Lawrence A.
