Harold Granby Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lakeside Funeral Home - Woodstock on Mar. 7, 2026.
Harold Granby Jr., lovingly known as "Junior," passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2026, in Woodstock, Georgia, surrounded by those he loved most. He was 68 years old.

Junior was born on March 27, 1957, in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, a city that remained close to his heart throughout his life. A proud Chicago native, he was a devoted fan of Chicago sports, especially the Blackhawks and the Bears, and never lost his love for classic Chicago favorites like Portillo's.

Those who knew Junior will remember his warm spirit, quick humor, and the joy he brought to every room. He was a natural jokester who loved to laugh and make others laugh right along with him. He found happiness in life's simple routines-coffee in the morning, milk with dinner, cheering on his teams, and the companionship of the many pets who were part of his life over the years.

Above all else, Junior treasured his family. His greatest joy was being surrounded by the people he loved, sharing stories, laughter, and everyday moments that meant the most to him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Karen Granby; his children, Dane Granby, Rachel Ducker and her husband Allan, and Connor Granby; and his granddaughter, Caroline Granby; along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 12, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Acworth, Georgia.

Junior will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his humor, kindness, and the lasting joy he brought to his family and friends.
