Timothy Leonard MacDonald

Timothy Leonard MacDonald, age 73, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2026. Tim was born on September 24, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Daniel MacDonald and the late Mary MacDonald Walmsley.

Tim married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl, on August 25, 1972. He is survived by his loving wife; son, Fredrick (Ginger Payment) of Austell, Georgia; son, Benjamin (Megan Crowley) of Augusta, Georgia; He was CheeCho to his five grandchildren (each one was his favorite), Madeline, Lillian, Brenny, Maizy and Jovie; sister, Annette Aronson (Robert Neureuther); brothers, Michael Corrigan (Mary) and Brian (Sherry) MacDonald; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Corrigan and Janet MacDonald; his school buddies, The James Gang; along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.

Tim is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Daniel MacDonald and Paul Corrigan; brother-in-law, Jack Aronson; nephew, Matthew Corrigan.

Tim attended St. James School in Ferndale, Michigan, and earned a degree in Carpentry at Augusta Technical College in Augusta, Georgia. He had a home maintenance business and retired his working career as a food distributor for the Garden Fresh Gourmet Company.

Tim proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Navy on the USS Kawishiwi from 1971-1975. He loved attending the annual reunions of his shipmates and fostering the friendships they had made. He maintained a lifelong friendship with shipmate, Bernie Fenkohl. He loved him like a brother.

Tim's humor, kindness, generosity and unwavering love for his family, friends and neighbors will never be forgotten. He was a boy at heart and spread laughter with his silly antics. His zest for life was contagious and brought immeasurable joy to our lives. As Tim would often say, "That's what I'm talkin' about."

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to 51:10 Youth Ranch, 13979 Bozeman Circle, Nathrop, Colorado 81236. This equine ministry for children was founded by Greg and Elsa Verrier, Tim and Cheryl's nephew and niece, and is so personally dear to them.

Tim and his family invite those he loved so well to join his celebration of life on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Lakeside Funeral Home, Woodstock, Georgia.
