Harold Edward Hammack, a cherished member of the St. Charles community, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on June 24, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, Harold lived a life rich in experiences and surrounded by love.
He was a man of many talents and passions. Harold dedicated his professional life to various roles, starting at Emerson Electric before continuing his journey at Security Consultants. Ultimately, he found joy as a machinist at Leonard's Metal, where his skills and work ethic shone brightly. Beyond the workplace, Harold's thirst for knowledge and adventure led him down fascinating paths, whether it was learning to play the piano and guitar or indulging in the thrill of treasure hunting with his metal detector. His love for nature was evident in his photography, capturing the beauty of the world around him. An adventurous spirit at heart, he embraced challenges with enthusiasm, even achieving certification in paragliding. Harold's love for the latest electronics, coupled with his innate curiosity about technology, allowed him to stay connected with the ever-evolving world around him.
Harold honorably served in the United States Army, a testament to his commitment to his country and the values he held dear. His service not only enriched his life but also instilled in him a deep appreciation for freedom and perseverance.
Harold's family were his greatest treasures. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Stephanie (Christopher) Bennett, and his cherished grandchildren, Allyson, Alexander, and Lauren Bennett. He also leaves behind his dear sisters, Diana (Bobby) Montgomery, Cheryl Fisher, and sister-in-law Shelly Hammack, as well as his brother, George (Wendy) Hammack. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, John Hammack, his mother, Shirley Bancroft, step-father, Kenneth Bancroft, and his brother, Larry Hammack, who await him in eternal peace.
Family and friends are invited to honor Harold’s memory at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. A visitation will be held on February 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM. Committal services will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM.

Harold Edward Hammack leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a zest for life that touched many. Those who knew him will carry his memory in their hearts as a reminder of the joy he brought into their lives.
