Harold Jacklin

Harold Jacklin, 91, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Lindon, Utah. He was born November 30, 1934 in Lindon where he spent his life deeply rooted in family, faith, and service.

On October 24, 1957, Harold married the love of his life, Rosalie Richards in the Salt Lake Temple. Their 68 years of marriage stand as a testament to enduring love, devotion, patience and shared faith. Together, they built a life centered on their children, church service and education.

Harold dedicated more than 30 years to education in the Alpine School District, serving as a history teacher, basketball coach, assistant principal, and district administrator. While working for the district, his pursuit of education culminated in receiving a hard-earned doctorate degree in education from Brigham Young University (BYU). Following his retirement from the district, his teaching career continued as he spent a decade working at BYU. Harold's love of teaching, curiosity, sense of humor and intellect influenced countless students and colleagues throughout his long career.

Harold pursued many interests and had many talents. He held leadership positions with the Boy Scouts of America and Pleasant Grove's Strawberry Days Committee. He enjoyed golfing and cherished the friendships and adventures he found camping with the Good Sam's Club. He spent countless hours tending his garden, enjoying the outdoors, and had a natural gift for fixing things (particularly with duct tape). Above all, he aimed to do his best in all of his pursuits - both professional and recreational. His influence will continue to be felt by his former students, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

Harold's legacy can be found in his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, and their four children: Becky Sabin (Rob) of Vineyard, Rosemary of Salt Lake City, Jeff (Michael Gourlay) of Heber, and Mandi Olson (Aaron) of Saratoga Springs. He was a proud grandfather to eight: Travis (Aly), Ashley, Kyle, Corey (Sarah), Natalie (Fernando), Emma, Ole, and Olivia, and to 13 great-grandchildren. Harold is survived by his dear brothers, Leroy and Ray. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mae Jacklin and his brothers, Niles, Milton, and Eldon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Timpanogos Stake Center Chapel, 800 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:00 – 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
