Marilyn Warburton, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 9, 1943, in
Provo, Utah, to Donald H. and Roxy Myrl Hansen Stubbs. Marilyn spent her early years in Provo and Orem before her family settled in Pleasant Grove when she was thirteen.
While attending Pleasant Grove High School, Marilyn met the boy who would become the great love of her life, Dale Warburton. They dated through high school, and Dale proposed to Marilyn on her birthday shortly before leaving for his LDS mission. Upon Dale's return from his mission, they were married on June 16, 1965. They were sealed a year later in the Salt Lake Temple, a union that became the foundation of a family she cherished above all else. Together they welcomed seven children and one foster son, filling their home with faith, togetherness, and love.
Service was woven into the fabric of Marilyn's life. She quietly went about doing good, lifting burdens without being asked and selflessly helping others. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings, including Primary President, Young Women's President, Relief Society President, and Cub Scout leader.
Christmas was one of Marilyn's favorite seasons, and she put her heart into it. Each year, her kitchen would be warm with the smell of fresh bread and homemade jam prepared for neighbors and friends. Beginning months in advance, she spent countless hours sewing pajamas for each of her grandchildren, creating memories that will always be treasured. More than the gifts, her family will remember the feeling she created-one of belonging, kindness, and love.
Midway through her life, Marilyn was diagnosed with a degenerative neurological condition that gradually affected her mobility. She carried this trial with remarkable grace. She never complained and never allowed it to define her. Instead, she continued to serve, to love, and to show patience and long-suffering in a way that quietly taught all who knew her what faithfully enduring to the end looks like.
Marilyn's greatest joy was her family. She delighted in being a mother and grandmother, faithfully supporting her husband and her family in all their endeavors. Her grandchildren remember her soft hugs, her listening ear, and the way she made each of them feel special.
She is survived by her children: Wendy (Don) Busenbark, Richard (Andrea) Warburton, Mark (Stephen) Warburton, daughter-in-law Heather (Greg) Warburton, Joel Warburton, Jared (Kristin) Warburton, and Stacy (Ian) Schwerdt; her foster son, Dan (Angie) Postelnicu; 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren (with 3 more on the way). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Warburton; her son, Greg Warburton; and her granddaughter, Ruby June Warburton.
