We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Harold's death. He was a kind and gentle man. Kent was so happy to see Harold & Mayren last Fall and had a nice visit in their home. He couldn't believe what great shape Harold was in and too was shocked by this sad news. May God comfort and keep his loving arms around your family now and in the days to come. Love, Shirley & Marlyn Gillespie

As a former resident of Oxborough Rd through 1982, I had the distinct pleasure of visiting with Harold and Mayren on a chance meeting in the fall of 2005. I was reminded that Harold was so kind, thoughtful and intelligent. My deepest sympathies to the entire Kern family for this great loss of a wonderful man.

Will always cherish delightful memories of sharing our first home with our first wonderful nextdoor neighbors: Harold, Mayren, Brian, Shannon, Dugan, (and Mistletoe). Yes, even our dog (Marshmallow) was a friend!
Prayers, blessing, and love from Elaine O'Brien and Kathleen Osborn.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Kern Family. I have only known Harold for a couple of years, but I enjoyed very much the time we spent together. Harold taught me about wildlife and photography and was a great role-model. He told me once that he couldn't shoot an animal with a gun, so he would shoot them with his camera. I will miss him very much.

Jean and I grieve with you, Mayren, and all of Harold's wonderful family. Harold was a wonderful man, a good friend, and an exceptional member of his beloved fraternity, Phi Delta Theta. Memories of our times with Harold (Pop) are cherished, and will remain with us forever. You and your family are in our prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. This is a difficult time for those that are left behind. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that your husband and father is in a much better place. Feeling good and smiling down on you all to watch over you through the rest of your days.

Growing up and playing basketball with Shannon, I was introduced to this wonderful, caring family in the early 1980's. I remember Harold as a very kind man. Mayren and Harold always made me feel welcomed in their wonderful home. I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the entire Kern family and wish them strength in this difficult time.
