Harold Kottman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 19, 2024.
In Loving Memory of Harold Leslie Kottman
Harold Leslie "Bud" Kottman, a beloved husband, father, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2024, at his residence in Ross, OH surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 10, 1942, in Cincinnati, OH, Bud was a vibrant soul who lived life to the fullest.
Bud embarked on his career as an accountant at Baldwin Piano and Organ Company and proceeded to open a family business, H.L. Kottman & Associates, dedicated to barcode labeling applications for over 32 years. He was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his clients and colleagues.
Outside of his professional life, Bud had a true passion for the great outdoors. He loved nothing more than embarking on thrilling adventures with his beloved wife, Judy and family. Together, they explored countless trails, canoed down winding rivers, hiked breathtaking mountains, and pedaled through scenic landscapes. When not away he enjoyed doing yard work, planting and caring for many trees and grooming the yard to his perfection. Bud's adventurous spirit and love for nature were infectious, and he often inspired others to embrace the beauty of the outdoors.
Bud was an active member of various local churches, where he selflessly volunteered his time and talents. He joyfully participated in the bell choir and served on church boards. His commitment to his faith and the community left a lasting impact on all those who crossed his path.
In his brief military service, Bud proudly served in the United States Army National Guard of Ohio. Enlisting on February 13, 1966, he dutifully performed his duties and tasks until his honorable discharge on December 4, 1971.
Bud leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Judy Kottman; his loving daughter, Jen (David) Daiker; grandchildren, Alex and Emily Daiker, and many extended relatives and friends and Sophie. Bud's presence will be deeply missed by all his friends, family, and loved ones.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Steven Harold Kottman and sister, Lois Perry.
Memorial services and a celebration of Bud's life will be held on Saturday, January, 27, 2024 with visitation starting at 10:00 AM and services beginning at 11:00 AM at Christ Prince of Peace United Methodist Church, 10507 Colerain Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45252. Bud will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Gardens in the future.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Christ Prince of Peace United Methodist Church.
May the memories of Bud's vibrant spirit, kindness, and adventurous nature continue to live on in our hearts. Rest in peace, Bud. "I love you a bushel and a peck."
