Our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Harold Doyle Marble, 93, had a beautiful reunion in Heaven with his lovely wife Colleen on April 29, 2024.
Doyle was born on February 6, 1931, in Ogden, Utah to Harold H. Marble, and Elizabeth Findley Durfey. He grew up in Ogden, attending Mound Fort Junior High and Ogden High Schools. At the age of 19 he joined the Navy and served his country during the Korean War. He married Jane Colleen Norris on November 28, 1952, and together they had 3 wonderful girls, Susan, Katerina, and Wendy. They built a beautiful life together in their home in Pleasant View, Utah. They spent their time together camping and fishing.
Doyle also enjoyed hunting deer, antelope, pheasants, and ducks. Doyle and his father spent a lot of time together hunting ducks on the Bear River. He had many fun stories to tell. He taught his grandchildren to love fishing and spent many trips untangling lines and breaking snags. When we told him many years later, "Thank you for showing so much patience,: he replied, "That's just what grandpas do."
Doyle spent 30 years working at the American Can Company and retired there. He then spent 10 years working at the Pepsi Plant. After he retired, he and Colleen spent their winters in sunny Arizona.
As a father, he taught his girls many things, including honesty, respect, and being on time. He taught them to enjoy life and that family was important.
When Doyle was 8 he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his three daughters, Susan (Jeff) Jenkins, Katerina (Kent) Loock, Wendy (Mike) Flitton, 8 grandchildren, Casey (Jen) Jenkins, Cary (Lori) Jenkins, Amy (Shayne) Walker, Chad (Stacey) Jenkins, Shauna (Aaron) Murray, Stacie (Clay) Pollard, Eric (Hailey) Loock, Anastasia (Carson) Christensen, as well as 22 great-grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and wife, as well as one infant brother Dale Marble, and two sisters Betty Rhead and Marilyn Adams, along with many friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024, 4:00 p.m., at Deweyville Cemetery, Deweyville, Utah.
Services entrusted to Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
