Harold Dewitt Richardson

Harold Richardson was born in Chattahoochee, GA on November 30,
1929 to Sanford and Harriett Richardson. Harold graduated from West Fulton High School in 1947 where he loved and excelled playing on all sports teams. He served in the U,S. Army from January 1951-December 1952, spending one year in Korea. He was honorably discharged on December 24, 1952. He soon met a pretty girl at Daytona Beach. Her name was Diane. They fell in love and were married on February 4, 1961. They had one son, Scott Dewitt, and resided in Cobb County until the passing of his beloved wife, Diane, at which time he moved to Snellville, GA to be near his sister, Gay Nell. He also developed a love for golf and traveling with Diane until her passing in December 2022. Harold was also a long time member of First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee. Harold loved life and had many plans for his future with a new love in his life, a pretty lady named Helon Gragg. Helon brought much joy to his life and we are forever grateful to her. However, Jesus had other plans for Harold and after a brief illness, He called him home to be with Him. We are at peace with that.
Harold will be missed by his many friends who loved him dearly. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Barbara Sue Allen (sister), Diane Richardson (wife) and Scott Richardson (son).. He will be dearly missed by his brother, James A Richardson of Ballground, GA and sister, Gay Nell Glover of Snellville, GA and many nieces and nephews who lovingly called him "Uncle Harold". The service to honor and celebrate the life of Harold Richardson will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 2:00 at Carmichael's Funeral Home, 2950 King Street, Smyrna, GA 30080. He was cremated and burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery on South Cobb Drive, Smyrna, GA. Pastor Shell Osbon, Life Church Smyrna, will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until time of service at 2;00. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold's name may be made to First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee, 1950 Bolton Road, Atlanta, GA30318.
