Harold "Manny" Simplot Jr.

Beloit, WI - Harold "Manny" Eugene Simplot Jr., 80, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 in his home. He was born on October 27, 1944 in Beloit, WI, the son of Harold and Florence (Harding) Simplot Sr. Manny was a 1962 Beloit Memorial High School graduate. He married Pamela Rodermel on September 30, 1972 in Beloit, WI. Manny was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1963-1967. He was stationed at Malstrom AFB Great Falls, Montana as well as Germany. Manny was injured in a mining accident February 1968 in Pocatello, ID. Although he was disabled, Manny kept busy. He was employed for 20 years at the Beloit Country Club as a Rough Rider (Grounds Keeper). Manny was the President of the Babe Ruth League from 1979-1981. He enjoyed fishing in St. Germain and Canada and hunting in Black River Falls. Manny was also a Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. GO PACK GO!! Survivors include his wife, Pamela; siblings, Marvin (Catherine) Simplot of Highland, WI and Sandra (George) Hendee, Beloit, WI; sisters-in-law, Ellen Peck and Mary (Scott) Vasgird; mother-in-law, Beth Rodermel; aunt; LaFreda Wallace; nieces, Christine (Cary) Drake, Sara Simplot, Liz (Dylan) Johnson; nephews, Travis Simplot, Jeremy (Liz Valdez) Simplot, Jason (Rachel Coughtry) Carpenter, Jamie (Wendy Haines) Peck, Joe (Jennifer) Peck and John (Bianca) Vasgird; as well as many great nephews and nieces. Manny and Pamela hosted Beloit College students who also became part of their family: Xueqi Gao, Kun Zhang, Melissa Mu, and Ngwe Sin Phyo (LuLu). Manny was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Bill Rodermel; brother-in-law, Rodney Peck; nephews, William Carpenter Jr. and Bradley Simplot. A Funeral Service for Manny will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with Rev. Gene Van Galder officiating. Entombment will be at Floral Lawn Cemetery. A visitation of remembrance will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
