Steve Smallwood, 70, of Canadian, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in Canadian. Private Memorial Services were held in Canadian with Pastor Rick Timmons, officiating. Cremation and arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Harold Steve Smallwood was born August 1, 1953, in Amarillo to Harold and Bobbie Smallwood. He graduated from Palo Duro High School with the class of 1973. Steve married Kay Moore in Amarillo on July 3, 1979. Kay and Steve moved to Canadian in 1981. Early in his work career, Steve worked in construction and then worked in the gas energy industry. He enjoyed motorcycles, was a member of the former Magic Dragon Motorcycle Club and made a few trips to Sturgis with friends. Being an outdoorsman, Steve enjoyed camping, fishing, whitewater rafting, and many other outdoor activities with his family and friends. Steve loved playing with little kids and dogs. He especially loved his granddaughters!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Bobbie; and a sister, Carolyn.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kay Smallwood; two children, Blaine Smallwood and wife Betsy, and Amber Smallwood Holmes and husband Jim; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Holmes, Olivia Holmes, Madison Smallwood, and Alex Smallwood.
Memorials may be made to Mesa View Sr. Living, 106 Teas Circle, Canadian, TX 79014.
