Harold L. Weitzel, 89 of Lodi, Ohio passed away suddenly on Monday, December 20, 2021 in Tucson, AZ.
He was born January 6, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Vern and Mae (Jandecka) Weitzel.
Harold graduated from Lodi High School in 1950 and entered the U.S. Air Force shortly thereafter, serving during the Korean War.
During his military service, he married Sally Blackburn on September 19, 1952.
He worked with his father at his TV sales and repair shop in downtown Lodi and later at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland for over 30 years. He had also served as Superintendent of the Lodi Public Utilities Office. Harold was a member of Lodi American Legion Post #523, Harrisville Masonic Lodge #137 F&AM, and Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland.
Harold was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling. He and Sally had spent the winter months in Tucson since 1992.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Randy) Spence and Kathy (Bill) Christian;
son, Steve (Trendy) Weitzel;
son-in-law, Jim Funk;
4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally on October 29, 2021, and his daughter, Vicki Funk in 2006.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, May 14, at 1:00 PM in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Rev. David Dake will officiate.
A reception and luncheon will be held at the Lodi American Legion Post following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to either Lodi First Congregational Church, or Lodi American Legion Post #523.
