Harold Douglas Wooten, age 98 of Hendersonville, passed away October 4, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. Harold was born on December 1, 1925 in Red Boiling Springs, TN to the late Norville and Myrtle Wooten.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Catherine May Wooten; brothers, Rodger, Paul, Clifton, and Donald Wooten; and sister, Ruth Mabry.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl Jung (Bill), Jerry Wooten (Nancy), and Penny Mundy (Terry); grandchildren, Shannon Hodge (Neil), Jake Jung (Avat), Brandon Wooten (Gabby), and Sundy Mackorell (John); and great-grandchildren, Evan, Lillian, Kingston, Nova, Ivy May, John, and Ava.
Harold served in the United States Army during World War II. He was very proud of his service and was recently honored by the City of Hendersonville for being a Veteran and a longtime resident of Hendersonville. He was a longtime member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside with Pastor Morris Watson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, October 13th from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. and Monday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service.
