Harold Truman Wuest was born on September 16, 1933, and went home to his Savior on October 27, 2025. Memorial Service to be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, 10:00 am at 21st Church of Christ, with Pastor Troy Oliver officiating, at 1720 W. Church of Christ. Burial to follow at Mission Garden of Memories, 2900 W. 7th Street.
He was raised on a farm outside of Portales, NM, by his mother, and grandparents and cousins. His family grew/raised their food. He was given small chores, which he considered fun. He slept in a bed with five other children. He considered his childhood as idyllic. Harold attended Clovis High School, where he was the athletic team manager. Having rheumatic fever as a child prevented him playing sports. He met his future bride in high school and married Mary Ann McGee, the love of his life, in 1954.
He attended college at New Mexico A&M on a co-op program and earned a degree in 1956 in chemical engineering. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Upon graduating, he was recruited by Phillips Petroleum Company, and worked there for 35 years, where he was the sales manager of North American Carbon Black. They lived, with their three sons, in Borger, TX, Bartlesville, OK, Akron OH, Rochester, MI, and São Paulo, Brazil. They ended up back in Clovis by choice in 1987. He operated Holiday Travel agency for 14 years. Harold and Mary Ann traveled the world, often with dear friends, enjoying life together to its fullest. He was a member of 21st Church of Christ, where he led a small group for many years. He was an avid golfer, and loved reading western books, fly fishing, and camping in the mountains. He and Mary Ann loved to swing dance and won contests with their talents!
He is survived by sons; Kurt Wuest and wife Julie, Mark Wuest and wife Laura, and Robert Wuest and wife Amy. He is also survived by his granddaughters Ashley Wuest and Lauren Wuest Lazorko and husband Nick, and grandsons Robert Wuest, Ryan Wuest, Ellery Wuest, and Keith Wuest; also, great grandsons Luke Hunter Lazorko and Liam Brooks Lazorko. He is additionally survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and innumerable dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, and his loving parents; Savilla Meador Huber and Blackie Huber.
