Upon Cary's retirement, they moved to Belfast, ME where they spent 20 years immersed in the close-knit community. Happy was involved in many community activities during her time in Belfast. She and Cary were longtime members of the Unitarian Universalist Church in both Waterville and Belfast. In 2019, they moved to Topsham, ME to be closer to their daughters and their families. Happy loved the outdoors and grew up sailing and skiing, which continued for many years. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden.

Happy was predeceased by her husband Cary, her brother Jack Langmaid, and her sister Charty Hunter. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Bradford de Cifuentes (Julio), Julie Bradford Wheeler (Derek), and Betsy Bradford; her grandchildren, Madeleine and Benjamin Wheeler; her sister Nancy Loth (Richard), her sister-in-law Chartis Tebbetts (Ned); her brother-in-law David Hunter; her nephews Bill and Jamie Langmaid; her nieces Tanya and Alison Miller; their families; and several cousins.
