Harriet Emma Capaldi (nee Taylor), age 93, of Ulster, PA, formerly of Red Cedar Hill in
Levittown, PA,
passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 21, 2025. She was surrounded by her
loved ones at the moment of her passing.
Harriet, known to most as Tina, was born in Trenton, NJ, on December 24th, 1931, to Horace and
Pearl Taylor. She grew up on John Fitch Way, alongside the Delaware River, until her parents and
four siblings moved to a farmstead in Morrisville, PA. There, Tina worked from the age of 7 at Starkey
and King's Farms picking vegetables and canning produce. Her memories of the farms were always
expressed as very positive and a source of happiness for her. She said she loved the smell of the dirt
and the camaraderie of the girls gang who harvested in the rows beside her. As a young girl
experiencing World War II (WWII) through newspaper headlines and radio broadcasts, she made her
contributions to the war effort by sewing handkerchiefs for the troops, crocheting afghan squares for
blankets, and rolling bandages as a volunteer Candy Striper.
At the age of 17, Tina married Anthony N. Capaldi (deceased), and together they raised a family of
eight children. As she raised her family, Tina held various occupations in the Bucks County area,
including that of waitress, housekeeper, receptionist, and administrative assistant. She had a passion
for nature and enjoyed seeing wild animals in their own habitat, sitting in the woods quietly, fishing,
and spending time in the mountains. She was proud to say that it wasn't until age 65 that she had to
give up climbing trees. Her sense of adventure lives on and her commitment to excellence continues
to inspire.
On the side and in the off-hours Tina was a skilled seamstress, a craftswoman who perfected the art
of crocheting beautiful intricate afghans, and a tropical fish keeper. So many of our babies and dear
friends have been nurtured and warmed beneath those beautiful blankets. For many years to come,
our bodies and minds will be comforted by the love she wove into every perfect stitch.
Tina is survived by seven of her eight children, including Christina Wilson and her husband, Rudy
Wilson, of Jasper, GA; Anthony N. Capaldi, Jr. of Ulster, PA; Vincent V. Capaldi and his wife,
Maureen Capaldi, of Ulster, PA; Joseph Capaldi and his wife, Maria Capaldi, of
Levittown, PA; Mary
Mangee and her partner, Bill Card, of Byron, GA; Anna M. Capaldi Edwards of Ulster, PA; and
Thomas Capaldi and his wife, Aimee Capaldi, of
Levittown, PA.
She is also survived by her brother Charles Taylor and his wife, Linda Taylor, of
Levittown, PA and
sister, Dorothy Widman of Point Pleasant, NJ.
Tina is predeceased by her husband, Anthony N. Capaldi; daughter, Dianne Hennink; sister Lauretta
Fortunati; brother Robert Taylor; grandson Richard E. Millar, Jr.; grandson Jason Millar;
granddaughter Kristen Millar; and grandson Brian Emeigh.
Tina's family and circle of loved ones include 25 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 11 great
great grandchildren. In her passing, many others have lost their beloved aunt and friend. She will be
sorely missed by all those who knew her and loved her dearly. The world is truly diminished by the
passing of this great lady.
Family and friends are invited to Tina's Life Celebration on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 10 AM - 12 PM,
followed by her Funeral Service at 12 PM, at the Beck-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 7400 New Falls Rd.,
Levittown, PA 19055. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Feasterville.
