Harriet Allen Etchison

Harriet Allen Etchison, 81, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at her residence in Charlotte.
Mrs. Etchison was born May 1, 1941 in Butler Pennsylvania to the late Francis Clyde Allen and the late Harriet Emma Allen.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Roy Francis Etchison, Sr., son, Roy Francis Etchison, Jr., and her brothers Jack Allen, Terry Allen, and Gary Allen
She grew up in Slippery Rock, PA, where she graduated in 1959 from Slippery Rock High School. She met her husband at Strunk Superette Store in Penn Hills, PA, got engaged and shorty after married Roy Francis Etchison Sr. on July 14, 1962. She was a long time member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Monroeville, PA. She loved her family and friends, and especially her dog Haylee. They lived in Monroeville, PA for 43 years old, as well as Calabash, NC for approximately 15 years, and finally moved to Charlotte, NC to be closer to her beloved family. Harriet made friends everywhere she went, and stayed in close touch with her lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:45 PM pm, Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, 12115 University City Blvd, Harrisburg, NC 28075. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel.
Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Lou Cinotto of Charlotte, NC, Terri Dawn Shimshock (Matthew) of Fairview, NC; daughter-in-law Michelle Marish Etchison of Concord, NC; her eight grandchildren, Courtney Martorella (Pete) and great-granddaughter Emma Lynn, Christopher Etchison, Matthew, Christina Kacaj (Franc), Hannah, and Andrew Shimshock.
