Vickey Jean Etchison, 74, passed away on January 21, 2026. She was born on August 11, 1951, in McDunn, West Virginia, to Evalee Heitz and Chilton Brown.
Vickey moved to Indianapolis as a child and later made Anderson, Indiana her home in 1977. A devoted homemaker, she poured her life into caring for others. Her faith was the foundation of who she was—she loved the Lord deeply. She found joy in attending church, sewing, crafting, and helping anyone in need. She had a special heart for her neighbors at Southdale Towers, where her kindness and willingness to serve touched many lives
Vickey was a loving mother and a cherished grandmother whose gentle spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Glendening; grandchildren Roxanne Woodson, David Brumley, Dustin Glendening, and Azriel Glendening; great-grandchildren Sienna, Aribella, Lillianna, and Rhaenyra Kashon; sister Carol Bishop; and brother Terry Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Etchison; parents Evalee and Chilton; siblings Geneva Rhinehart, Shirley Laudig, Cindy Weaver, Edward Brown, Edward Heitz Jr., Brenda Brown, and Ricky Brown.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 27th, at Southdale Church of the Nazarene, with calling hours from 12:00–1:00 PM and the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
Vickey’s life was a quiet testimony of faith, love, and service. May her legacy live on in the lives she touched and the kindness she so freely gave.
