Harriet Ann Wharton Warner

A Beautiful Soul Is Never Forgotten.
Harriet Ann Warner, 82, of Dover, passed away on December 24, 2023 at Bay­health Hospital, Kent Campus, Dover. She was born on July 18, 1941 in Smyrna, DE to parents Mary Wharton and Elmer Morris. On July 30, 1963, she married Joe D. Warner, Sr. They enjoyed a loving marriage that lasted for 41 years.
She graduated from William Henry High School in 1960. She worked various factory jobs, some of which included Green Giant and Playtex. She later decided to become a full-time homemaker to care for her ailing husband.
Among her primary interests she loved playing Bid Whist, traveling with her husband, she loved watching Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, The Talk, The Cut­lers and Boxing. She will be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help people if she could. She loved her Cadillac cars, owning several.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe D. Warner, Sr.; parents, Mary Wharton and Elmer Morris; her adopted parents, Elsie Mae Schenck and John Wesley Schenck; her adopted brother, Wendell E. Schenck; and half-brother, William Morris.
She is survived by her loving son and caregiver, Joe D. Warner, Jr.; adopted sister, Phyllis Brown (Alan) and several cousins from Wilmington, DE, Kent County, DE and Baltimore, MD; and special friend, Sylvia Bagwell.
