Harriett V. Schulte (née Gorman) devoted and loving wife to Thomas L. Loving and cherished mother of Thomas W. (Michelle), Susan V. (Layne), Michael D. (Christine) and Anthony G. Proud and loving grandmother of; T. Mitchell (Taylor), W. Andrew, William G. (Anna), Jacob T., Tessa E., Anna M., Ella C., Emma R., Everett R., Jessie V., Jack A., and great grandmother of; Addie Mae.
Harriett was predeceased by her father; Louis W. and mother Valia A. and the eldest of eight; Valerie, Sheila, Juliette, William, Mary, Michael and Michele. Harriett was a proud graduate of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and worked both emergency room and pediatrics (Temple & Egan) before exiting her nursing career to start and raise a family on a full-time basis. Harriett immersed herself in motherhood and homemaking and through the years had ample opportunity to apply her nursing skills with her growing family. When her children had grown, she returned to nursing in the home healthcare field.
When Harriett became a grandmother, she was always eager to babysit. Her grandchildren will never forget the countless hours she spent caring for and spoiling them, and her delicious root beer floats. She was devoted to her faith and an active member in her church. Through the years she cultivated numerous deep and lasting friendships and greatly enjoyed time spent with her bridge club and camping groups.
A woman of many talents, Harriett was a gifted seamstress and could often be found at her sewing or embroidery machine taking care of countless mending requests and creating beautiful quilts and personalized treasures for her family and friends. Harriett was also a wonderful cook who delighted in entertaining loved ones. Meals in her home were delicious and always served on warm plates then finished with fresh coffee and homemade desserts.
Harriett leaves behind a legacy of love, caring, kindness and perfection in the details. She always applied herself to the best of her ability. no matter the task, and was consistently raising the bar of all of her talents.
