Harry Hastings

Harry James Hastings passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Hamilton Pointe Senior Living.
His family would like to thank all his caregivers at Hamilton Pointe and Heart to Heart Hospice for his care over the past few months. Special thanks to Sharon Hagenseiker for her friendship and dutiful in-home care over the years.
Born April 18, 1934 to Areita and George Hastings. The youngest of eight children, he was raised in Detroit, MI. He served 3 years at Fort Campbell in the Infantry and Paratrooper division. Harry followed a friend to Evansville and attended Evansville College graduating with a Business degree in 1961. He supported his family for 33 years selling insurance for Commonwealth and Monumental Life Insurance.
Before graduating, Harry wooed his future wife, Sharon Ashworth and they shared 56 years together. They had 5 children and settled in Boonville. Harry was an active member of First Baptist Church (Boonville, IN). Appointed a deacon, he was a leader in the church helping in many ways over the years. Following retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, challenging each other at bowling, and grilling the perfect steak.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Ashworth Hastings, parents George and Areita Hastings, and siblings.
Survived by his children Sarah Grayson (Sam), Mike Hastings (Pam), Will Hastings, Ben Hastings (Kristi), Matt Hastings (Kayleigh). Grandchildren, Isaac (Jen) and Shannon Grayson, Daniel and Leah Hastings, Nathan, Dakota and Katie Hastings, Hailey and Jacob Hastings, Great-grandchildren: Isla and Thomas Grayson.
Visitation to be held from 3-8pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Bradley Colonial Chapel in Boonville Indiana. Family and friends may also visit from 10am until service time at 11am on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
