Harry Joe LaBar, 59, of Smithfield Township, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. He was the husband of Christine E. (MacLennan) LaBar to whom he was married since June 2025.

Born on April 6, 1966 In Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Dorothy D. (Swire) LaBar and the late Donald W. LaBar.

Joe was a well-known local tow truck driver for the past 43 years, having worked in earlier years for CHC and Karl's towing. He has ended his career with coworkers that were more like family at Schlier's/RLE Pocono.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family (when you could get him to take time off work). You would also never see him without a cup of coffee in his hand.

In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are a daughter, Ashley Wisniewski (Richard); a son, Jason LaBar; three step-daughters, Nicole Frace, Amanda Gray (Kevin) and Amber Thomas; a step-son, Norman Thomas, Jr. (Jazmin Moon); ten grandchildren, Lotus LaBar-Smith, Salem Fritz, Jaxon Wisniewski, Anthony LaBar, Jeremiah Frace-Kittrell, Blake Hendershot, Ralphie Sweeley, Benjamin Gray, Maxine Gray and Brinley Thomas; four godchildren, Isaiah LaBar- Slider, Ronnie LaBar, Alyssa and Raylynn Cordero; a brother, Ronald LaBar; two sisters, Dotty Slider (Ray) and Donna Repsher (TJ Olsen); and many extended family members.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randy LaBar and grandparents, Frank and Viola LaBar and Isaac and Dorothy Swire.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 29th at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with visitation beginning at 10:00am followed by the funeral services at noon with Pastor Margie Good officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joe's wife, Christine LaBar.
