Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home - Middletown on Jan. 8, 2026.
Dale Allen LaBar, 68, of New Castle, Delaware, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
He was born on October 5, 1957, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to the late Luther and Carole (Bortz) LaBar. Dale graduated from William Penn High School and later attended Wilmington University. He was an exceptional athlete and was drafted in the second round (29th overall pick) of the baseball draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Dale cherished the time spent with his parents, enjoying outings together and visits to Delaware Park. In his later years, he frequently played golf with his father and also enjoyed crabbing with his brother-in-law. He devotedly cared for his parents as they aged.
He is survived by his son, Shawn LaBar; his grandson, Ezra LaBar; his sister, Kimberlee Moran (Bill); and his brother, Randy Labar (Kathy).
He will be interred privately in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
