Harry Medlin Obituary
Benson, NC: Mr. Harry Scott Medlin, age 74, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC, surrounded by his loving family. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00PM-Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. The family will receive friends following the service, and other times at the home.
Mr. Medlin was born on August 28, 1951 in Johnston County, NC to the late Harold Matha Medlin, Sr. and Margaret Lassiter Medlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Harold “Scottie” Medlin. Mr. Medlin was the co-owner and operator of Medlin Country Ham in Benson, NC. Following the Ham House, he retired from the Johnston Correctional Center in Smithfield, NC. He loved deer hunting, fishing, cutting grass, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Julie Hairr Medlin; children, Kimberly Strickland Hall and husband, Steve, and Gregory Dale Strickland; granddaughter who was the apple of his eye, Sydney Adele Creech; brother, Harold Matha “Hal” Medlin, Jr., and wife, Corine; special loving dog, Bailey.
