On August 5, 2025, Harry H. Muff passed from this life. Harry was proudly raised in Upper Darby. In 1973, Harry married the love of his life, Cynthia “Rene” Muff (ne Taraborelli). This union began a legacy of love that will live on for generations through their beloved children, Harry “Butch” Muff (Michelle) and Nicole Gillin (Michael). In addition to his loving wife and children, Harry is survived by the grandchildren and greatgrandchild that he deeply cherished: Brandon (Danarling) and Xavier, Faith (Brady), Michael, Nathan and Everly. His love was not limited to his human grandchildren and his granddogs will miss him immensely: Ares, Riker, Hella and Freya. He will be received by the loving arms of friends and family who went before him and by his much loved grand-dog, Nova.
Harry was a passionate fisherman and boat captain who loved the ocean and being out at sea on his boat, the “Cynthia R”, named for his much-adored wife. He immensely enjoyed his time with friends in Brigantine at the Fish Finder Marina while catching fish that he could gift to his loved ones. He counted Joseph “Joey” Fumo, Jr. as his son and deeply valued their time together as he did with Joey’s father, Joe, who will receive him in Heaven with their greatest fishing stories, only slightly embellished as fisherman are known to do.
Harry worked for Upper Darby Township for the entirety of his career, and was a proud lifetime member of the Cardington Stonehurst Fire Company 4. He enjoyed model trains, the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, waiting in hours long lines for both Cabbage Patch kids and Build-a-Bears when no one else would and plying his grandchildren with forbidden sweets and toys. His enduring legacy of selfless love and passion will live on through those who love him. May we all love and be loved the way that Harry was.
