Harry V. Mullen, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday November 7, 2024 at Oak Hill Village in Middletown at the age of 90.
Born April 21, 1934, in Linglestown, he was a son of the late John W. and Elsie (Gibney) Mullen. Harry had been united in marriage with Shirley Anne (Jones) Mullen, for 64 years, prior to her passing on March 4, 2017.
Harry, or "Oil Can" as he was known to his family and friends, worked as a truck driver for over 30 years until his retirement from AMP/Tyco. A man of integrity, who believed in hard work, he took great pride in detailing cars and working on lawn care for friends and family. Harry had a charming personality that endeared him to others. He enjoyed dancing and was a member of the Robert H. Hoke Post #272 American Legion in Linglestown. Harry would also attend the Abundant Harvest Church in Duncannon.
Harry is survived by his granddaughter, Jamie M. Brightbill of Lancaster; sister, Connie J. (John) Miller and brother, Harold E. "Buzzy" (Brenda) Mullen both of Duncannon; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mildred and Harry Wolf of Florida; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Joy McDade; his brothers, Richard, Melvin, John, Carl, Dean, Robert, Ray, Jay, Gerald, Clyde and Amos; a sister, Dolores, and two infant sisters, Pauline and Edith.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for his viewing on Friday November 15, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Ronald C.L. Smith Funeral Home, 325 N. High Street, Duncannon. A Funeral Service will commence at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dann Caldwell, officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Duncannon.
