Harry Dale Newton, 72, of Cedar Mountain, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022. A Transylvania County native, he was the son of the late Glen and Myrtle McCall Newton. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers Dean Newton and Keith Newton and his sister, Sandy Collins.
A United States Army Veteran, Dale was a quiet man of honor and distinction. He loved to hunt and fish, work on cars and things around his home, but he was generous to others, always helping people and never asking for anything in return. He loved his animals, his dogs, especially Rocky, and Maya, the amazing Amazon parrot, that would talk and sing to him.
His greatest joy could be found in his family that survives him: his wife of 48 years, Kathryn; their children, Tim Newton and Nicole Scott (David, Jr.) and especially their granddaughter Eliza; and his brother Wayne Newton (Evelyn.)
A graveside service for Dale will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Allen Martin and Rev. Carroll Gosnell officiating. A meal and time of remembering Dale will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Gideon's International, P O Box 1338, Brevard, NC 28712, or Shriner's Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
